Hello.
My priority is to create a safe space and a warm, collaborative atmosphere to support and affirm clients in their journey of self-exploration and awareness. I am glad that you are here to learn a little more about my experience.
I am experienced in using mindfulness, yoga (RYT-200), art, dialectical behavior (DBT) strategies and sensory interventions in my sessions. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered narrative therapy and feminist approaches. In addition, I have extensive experience creating and running groups that support the development of coping skills, implementation of social skills, and growth of a healthy self-concept.
Among other places, I previously worked at Art It Out in Atlanta, where I provided individual and group therapy implementing CBT, art, mindful movement, and DBT strategies. I have also also co-led grief and trauma focused groups in Rwanda to support genocide survivors using mindfulness and narrative therapeutic techniques. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. I speak English and am also proficient in Spanish.
When not in the office, I love to spend time playing soccer, hiking, and baking. I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, and reading a good book.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
