Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #145707
Welcome,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the work that I do. As you’re looking to find the right therapist for you, I welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your needs.
I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. I work collaboratively with you while providing a secure space for you to process your feelings and grow. My approach comes through a multicultural and strength-based lens.
As a therapist with Beacon Wellness Team I support clients with sensory-based interventions. I also find it essential to have a strong understanding of how neurodiversity impacts healing and growth. I am experienced in crisis management and enjoy using play and humor in my sessions.
I approach therapy in an eclectic manner and incorporate elements of trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (TCBT), somatic, narrative and humanistic interventions. In addition, I have experience working one to one supporting autistic children and teens. Prior to working here, I was an onsite therapist for middle and high school students in the East Bay. My work at the school helped me develop a collaborative approach and unique understanding for the challenges students face.
I received my Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and Clinical Counseling from Saint Mary’s College. Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked as a behavioral technician where I helped support client care and wellness. In addition, I am a certified medical assistant with a background in primary care and dermatology. I also have experience working as a classical Indian dance teacher for youth at the studio I graduated from in 2011!
When I am not in the office, I spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy wine tasting in Napa and winding down with reality television. I am also an avid young adult fiction reader and recently took up kickboxing!
Be well,
Anisha
