Hello.
I am glad you are here and that I can share a little more about my work with you. My goal is to create a safe space where we can work together to build skills that will help you move through life's greatest challenges with a sense of confidence and harmony.
Choosing to seek therapy is an act of hope. I believe that through a supportive therapeutic connection, you can develop resources for healing, uncover inherent strengths and meet new goals. My approach is strength-based and I focus on you as a whole, not just the challenges you face.
In my role as Lead Therapist and Supervisor at Beacon Wellness Team I have the pleasure of helping support both clinicians and clients. I believe it is important to have a deep understanding of giftedness in order to provide effective support and I highlight progress over perfection.
I use techniques that build skills and I prioritize your specific needs and goals. These interventions are often found in approaches you may have heard of, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and somatic mindfulness. I provide therapy to individuals, parents and families and facilitate groups for parents of gifted and 2e children.
I received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. Prior to my work here I have worked in various settings providing individual, parent, and group therapies, as well as crisis intervention. I have worked at a public school as well as a private school for gifted and twice-exceptional adolescents. In addition, I served as a therapist within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) where I ran parent and teen groups and have been a certified sexual assault counselor for a local nonprofit.
Outside of doing the work I love, I enjoy spending time with loved ones (especially my four nephews and niece), hiking, and playing tennis or pickleball!
Warmly,
Gina
